In addition to my academic research, I have extensive experience coordinating applied research projects for public institutions, courts, regulatory bodies, development agencies, and private organizations. Much of this work has been conducted through Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas — Fipe, where I have served as researcher, advisor, and project coordinator.
My applied projects cover policy evaluation, economic and financial modeling, regional development, transportation economics, public contracts, economic regulation, and price measurement. I have coordinated and participated in studies involving impact evaluation, cost and price indices, public works price indices, government procurement, infrastructure projects, and the economic assessment of public policies.
I previously coordinated the Consumer Price Index and the Public Works Price Index at Fipe. I have also worked on projects assessing the effects of the General Law of Micro and Small Enterprises, technological constraints for a low-carbon economy, and regional and sectoral policies supported by institutions such as Sebrae and BNDES.
These projects typically involve the organization and treatment of large administrative datasets, econometric estimation, spatial analysis, forecasting, economic-financial assessment, and the preparation of technical reports to support decision-making. My expertise in spatial econometrics and applied economics allows me to analyze how policies, infrastructure, and economic shocks affect territories, sectors, municipalities, and regions.
I have also represented the University of São Paulo in policy-oriented institutional spaces, including the Economic Development Council of the City of São Paulo and Fundação Seade. This applied experience reinforces my research agenda and contributes to my work on regional and urban economics, transportation, agriculture, public policy evaluation, and spatial methods.
